Hallo 👋 #earlymodernist followers. I’m looking to present some new research at a seminar/conference this autumn anywhere in the British isles, on #Scottish #womensmanuscript compilation and socio-lit networks. If you come across any cfp could you please share them on here? A million thank yous. 🙏
A completely unprompted surprise today from my institutional library. Very lovely indeed.

Many Irish citizens as well. Please protect them @simonharrisireland.bsky.social
This is a moment of huge danger.

There are 4 Scottish citizens taking part in the Global Sumud Flotilla and others from across the UK.

The Labour government must speak out. All activists on board must be given safe passage.

How are scholars residing outside the UK and working on Scottish manuscripts supposed to obtain funding to continue the important work on #Scottishearlymodernwomen’s #literaryhistory if most funding only favours those who live in the UK? It’s a rhetorical question but an important one. Sigh.

Likely a long shot, but might any #earlymodern musicologists be able to identify these bars? There are numerous settings by Campion, Morley, Gautier in this Scottish ms, so I wondered if it was recognisable as any of theirs, or indeed someone else’s. As a lit historian, it’s beyond me, sadly.

Fairly excited about the prospect of making jam very soon, from our own 🍎. Have enjoyed gooseberry one made by a friend recently that was top drawer, and also a frocken pie, which was scrumptious. Pic of frocken bush (I’d never heard of them).
