As a kid watching Red Dawn in the 80s, I definitely though the Russian takeover of the US would involve at least *some* tanks

Friendly reminder that, at any time, you can say, “I’m done supporting this.” Look around, MAGA—the whole world is standing behind someone, and it’s not your king.

Totally! There was no reason for Vance to be there other than to pick a fight like a damn bully. That whole thing was planned so Trump can cozy up to daddy Putin.
Man, that Zelensky thing was such a pre-planned propaganda hit job perpetrated by guyliner VP and Fred Jr. I’ve never seen anything more transparent and pathetic, it is infuriating. Never been more ashamed to be represented by those guys and that’s saying something.

A part of me dies every time I see this in our wordpress dashboard. Medium should not be bigger than large. It's been 9 years of this weight on my shoulders.

Nothing makes you fall back in love with a piece of gear like selling it. I was playing through my Tone Master Deluxe, waiting for the buyer to show up... and suddenly I didn't want to sell it.

I have known for a long time it's not a good fit for me. It never will be... but still.

Real collaboration is so rare for me these days. I used to bathe in collaboration. Respectful, understanding, let's-see-what-great-thing-we-can-do-together collaboration. It's one of the best things in this world.

Totally lacking from my life right now.

This winter has been hard. I’m done with the cold. I’m done with the ice.

There is nothing different about this winter except the fact that those of us with a conscious came into the winter emotionally drained and we’ve been yanking ourselves and each other through the fucking endless winter.

I opened up my DAW to mix a podcast for a friend. The last 5 opened documents were all podcast mixes. I'm glad to have a little side hustle action but this means I haven't made any music in probably 5 months. I need to screw around making music more!

Solo dad this weekend. There is something about it that is more relaxing. I think it is because I have zero expectation of getting anything done other than keeping the two of us alive. Everything we actually do accomplish feels like a bonus.

I used to be a recording engineer. Sometimes I would make a record for someone with no expectation of fame or fortune. They just wanted to spend a week in a studio making music.

It turns out that now that I'm on the other side that's what I want too.

This was a wonderful episode and it may even inspire me to write about my writing on my substack.
A teenager explains why he shouldn’t have to write homework essays anymore. Is there some way for adults to force teens to still do homework? Or to convince them they should want to?

Lenny doesn’t get enough credit in That Thing You Do. Without him bridging the divide between Guy and Jimmy they would have never gotten past the second show. He was the true visionary of the movie.

I'm pretty sure I'd pay my local hardware store to let me spend 12 hours organizing the fastener section. There is an art to it and it's clear that nobody there thinks it's important. What a cluster!
