Genesis, history, & architecture of the IWGC. TNA WW1 documentation. Struggle for MoD & CWGC integrity dealing with WW1 ID cases. Don't subscribe to liars.
Correct👍 The Welch / Welsh issue was one of the very significant post WW1 IWGC errors. A very substantial number of soldiers are still buried under headstones which name regiments which didn't exist during WW1.

A very late headstone, so correctly named as "Welsh", not the incorrect 1920's "Welch"👍

Battle of Cambrai was 20/11/1917 till 3/12/1917, - as defined by the Battle Nomenclature Committee. Would be interesting to see what the unit war diary says for Oct 1918.

"Treets" - as a student I spent a few weeks making them at Paynes in Croydon. "Eat as many as you want, in the factory." - After a week you didn't want to see another one😲

The ABMC are heading in the same shameful direction as the cwgc. Organisations which, like the Wizard of OZ, hide behind a curtain, whilst being very askew from what they profess themselves to represent. Lying isn't an attribute.

Plus side - nobody believes a thing the BBC says now they've "confirmed" their belief that men can get pregnant😒
With regards to Reform, - well that kind of madness isn't new. When the governing classes completely lose the dressing room the proletariat can do the unexpected. It's happened before🫢

realised was he'd been sent home from 1st Bn Warwickshire regiment 25/4/1915 suffering from "neurasthenia", - what would become known as "shell shock"

The Nürnberger Gesetze (Nuremberg Laws) were introduced in Germany on 15 September 1935.
Nothing which the Germans did during WW2 should have been a surprise to anybody.
Nowadays of course we have the modern day equivalent of the 1920's - 30's Germans; not a nation, but a sect.

I've often wondered what German kids read during the 1950's - 60's🤔

Back in the late 60's I used to attend the after-hours debating society in my middle of nowhere Scottish High School. That was educational, & very lively. "Regulation" was light, but when appropriate, firm. The British House of Commons is simply embarrassing, - an unsightly fight in a monkey house.

The cwgc are not strangers to "misbehaving" on a much wider scale.

"The Huts" Cemetery has long fascinated me because it isn't "The Huts Cemetery", - its "Huts Cemetery". Look at the entrance pillars & the IWGC construction drawings, - "Huts Cemetery". How it ever became "The" has evaded me.

Er, what is the point of The House of Commons🤔
Its like a bear pit, - totally undignified, mainly empty, - a cheap subsidised boozer & restaurant for people who essentially couldn't give a **c* about the electorate😱

Granddad was an underage apprentice gardener when enlisting 1914. He, single mother, grandparents & half-brothers lived in an illegal corrugated iron "shack" in the middle of nowhere in the Scottish Highlands. He went to a one room school. His postcards home are grammatically A1 & clearly written👍

The "fast track" supply route was corrupt & should lead to prosecutions, commercial & political.
Inland Revenue took me to a tax tribunal circa 1998 & clamed £3,500 self-employed unpaid income tax(*) but Mone & Barrowman run up £39 million with impunity - HOW😲
(* I won, & paid a fraction of that).

"even if the original justification for going to war wasn't as clear-cut as it later became."
Obviously the Koreans & Cambodians invading Poland in September 1939 completely clouded the issue & it's unclear why France & Gt Britain took umbrage at the Germans instead (why didn't I think of that🤔).

In Japan "Nihon" is the common usage reference to the country. "Nippon" is the more formal reference in a nationalistic context, - stamps, money, media etc. The population of Japan are Japs or Nips.
