Look. I don't call out Christian nationalists to defend my own faith or my God from dishonor (a god isn't much of a god if he/she can't defend themselves). I call out Christian nationalism because it's a death cult that has claimed the lives of people I have cared about.
Welp, there you have it. The "sin of empathy."

Since I haven’t seen anyone mention this: When the U.S. commits war crimes it puts our troops in danger also, as it gives a green light to other countries that they can do the same to us

Not often that newsletters feature this kind of valuable reporting. Important work here. Follow the theology…
1st preacher at Hegseth's monthly Pentagon prayer services was his former pastor in Doug Wilson's denomination. Preachers since then: 3 Southern Baptist pastors, a grandson of Billy Graham, & a former NFL player accused of insider trading:

GUARDIAN: “Per head, 🇺🇸 output is six times China’s, and yet, inexplicably, there seem to be more abjectly poor Americans than Chinese. 🇺🇸 inequality is breathtaking… keeps getting worse…”

NOT wanting to is.

We create broken people. 👇 Look around yourself. Who's creating broken people around you? Who's working to fix people around you? Amplify them.
I have an extended family member who did three tours in Afghanistan starting at 18.

He is now in prison for killing his landlord. He came home with severe PTSD and drug addiction followed.

Afghans (esp kids) who were used by our government in furtherance of this endless war experienced the same.

And for God's sake, stop buying from Amazon.
How we beat back the corporate takeover of America:

1. Break up corporate monopolies

2. Continue building union power

3. End Citizens United and get big money out of politics

Let’s keep working to unrig the system.

This one's easy: I just tuned in, but I already know what I think about the shooter: fuck that asshole. I'm against civil war and anyone who wants to speed it up, knowingly or not. Fascists aren't. It's a real simple line. It's not centrism to say we're against killing. That's their idiot thing.

So help me God, after the last month, I'm going to start blocking anyone who's talking about 2028 as the next big savior hunt. Nobody's coming to save us. It's us. We're the saviors. It's always been us.

Sorry. John Thune's little bullshit statement was not "distancing himself". Maybe someone should make a video for John Thune to remember *his* oath of office and remove this ass hole before any more people are killed.
Jeffries: "What's extraordinary to me is that Mike Johnson doesn't even have the decency to distance himself from Donald Trump's death threats leveled at patriotic members of Congress. Even John Thune had the decency to distance himself from Trump's remarks. But Mike Johnson couldn't say a thing."

Several years ago I left the high control religious group I was born and raised in. I left. I got out. My flight response finally kicked in, and hard enough that I got out.

No matter how hard our flight response kicks in, friends, we can't get out of this one. We have to claw ourselves out.

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.
