I never answer my door, but due to an incident that happened yesterday, I just opened my door to a canvasser while wearing my I Support #FReadom shirt. The canvasser immediately said she loved my shirt, that she was a former librarian & had the same shirt. Angela Wierzbicki has my vote!

If you had told me when I was 12 (heck, 40 even) that this food was something I would willingly eat, much less cook for myself, I would have called you crazy! Recipe is “Unstuffed” Cabbage Soup from the original Skinnytaste Cookbook.

There is a crew cutting down our Chinese sweet gum tree. The freeze a few years ago finally did it in, & we've had several large limbs fall. Best to do this now before someone gets hurt or someone's property gets damaged. I'll miss its glorious fall colors. Here's a picture from several years ago.

Today @jimmynewland.bsky.social and I drove a couple of hours from Houston for a hike in the Big Thicket National Preserve. It was a beautiful day, and we didn't pass one other human on our hike. The quiet is such a reprieve from the city noise at home.

Spent the evening hanging out with friends that I don't see nearly often enough. It was a magnificently pleasant evening in Houston, so we chose to sit outside. #findthejoy

Trying to find the positives. Soliz Casa de Tacos in Stafford, Texas has the best breakfast tacos I’ve ever had. This is a Mary Ann, which has bacon, eggs, beans, and bacon.
