My orbit is cider (of the Treehorn variety), Sadie Pup, Tigress Murderball, family that are friends, and friends that are family. Plus books & travel.
I looked at all the retailer options for shipping to the US today, and Blackwell's indeed seemed to be the best option! Under $20 including shipping somehow??? One of my bestie book friends is going to be so excited (as will I, when I can borrow it after she's done reading).

I feel like I should clarify a tbsp is good for a dinner sized portion of four consenting adults. Two tbsp is like the whole family is there and you started with 2 pounds of green beans

My pro tip: stir in a tbsp or two of Dijon mustard at the end (depending on portion size), after sautéing with garlic, lemon juice and salt. Heavenly thickening.

It wouldn't have helped to be earlier in the great die-off. I'm '02 UGA magazines, trade mags were best option (outside NYC). I can't remember the last name of the magazine prof Lena, but she was a hoot. Conrad Fink almost derailed my college career because I thought Editorial Writing would be fun.

You can find good recipes lots of places, but look no further for safety tips, repeatedly. Hubs worked for a butcher, and cures lots of meats at home

As a middle-aged person, I would replace stuff in that range that I've had since my 20s, like bath towels. Especially applicable if you guys cook. Wooden spoons, cutting boards. Domestic violence and animal rescue orgs would prob really appreciate your perfectly serviceable older things/linens!

I'm from KS and have lived in GA for 20 years. I thought the differences between buried utilities between the two was fascinating when I moved here. In KS, with deep ice, all but the least-privileged neighborhoods have buried utilities. In ATL, still only the fancy/new neighborhoods bury utilities.

I make these every fall and love them so!

Two older women at the no kings march last weekend were taking turns sitting on a walker thing. Rohit was walking through the crowd in between speakers after his section, abruptly stopped once he noticed them, and crouched down and talked to them for a good long while. He came across as so genuine.

I just discovered him on a podcast recently, and I have never before thought F yes!!! Tell me about the history of chain mail! (his newsletter title is perfect).

My in-laws said the same thing, although they already had a prescription. I wonder if it has something to do with 65+ getting the combo flu + covid shot. I made an appt, said I had a qualifying condition (which I do) and had absolutely zero problems getting both.

I realized a few years ago that I had a year of overlap with Kirby Smart at UGA, and haven't really gotten over that truth (that I'm old) yet.

Mimosa plants are the devil in the south, and will take over everything if not controlled early. All those shy leaves have a bazillion seeds on the backside. I think in cooler zones they are less virulent though, and have really interesting flowers!

Thank you for the plethora of ideas!

Do you happen to know good places to sell/donate perfectly good patterns? I’m finally going through the last boxes from my mom’s house, and she has a ton of fun 60s/70s patterns that I’m loathe to just recycle.
