Nearly 8% of the people on our planet are farmers who produce more than a third of the world’s food on small plots of land...just an acre or two each. These farmers want to work, produce, feed their families, sell what’s left, and stay on their farms (cont.)

Practicing kindness at my little job, and delighting in encouraging my coworkers to find light in shitty situations. I closed my business a year ago after never recovering from the pandemic, lost an incredible amount of money, saw a dream fail after 12 years of toil. But I can still find joy.
i wrote this post in july two years ago when blue sky had around 200,000 total users and i thought i would ask again

I am a bigly Clueless fan girl, and I gotta say, never noticed that Paul Rudd is wearing a 688 Club T-shirt. He and I were still kids in (different) schools in KS when the club was open, but just look at this list of performers. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/688_Club

So in love with this little guy. If you need a book lover gift, or want to start a book club but can’t be bothered with the mechanics, check out Lit Lover Bundles on Etsy or insta! I’ve been reading with the maker for 20+ years and she’s SO good at this. #booksky

My parents, at the car, after taking me and my friend to see Pretty Woman in fifth grade without thinking the plot through. “Well that was NOT what we thought it was going to be.” I’d never seen them rendered speechless before, and kudos to them for not yanking us out of the theater mid-movie.
Got me thinking.. What's the strongest reaction you've seen an audience member have to a scene in a cinema?

During the birthday party scene in SIGNS I saw a whole row of young women literally throw their popcorn in the air like a cartoon.
Someone in my audience had a very audible negative reaction to the dog scene in TOGETHER. So that was fun!

My husband is back in cooking form, after a painful surgery break. (Not pictured: perfectly cooked ribeye, and farm box corn done with the lightest touch of butter and onion). The simple joy of summer produce!

19. KC and ATL are my hometowns. I’ll always adore NYC, Denver and NOLA. Pittsburgh, Oakland and LA surprised me. Hot take: no place should be as uniformly beautiful in weather as San Diego.

I still can't get past the idea that people in America are now supposed to accept that this is a valid form of law enforcement and just assume it's fine when random dudes in groups with face-coverings, no ID, no warrant, & no uniform grab people off the street and force them into unmarked vehicles
Not an original point but worth saying again - there is not a single element in this picture that identifies any of these folks as law enforcement agents. No badges, no uniforms, no vests. Out of context it just looks like a bunch of random guys are kidnapping a mayoral candidate.
Breaking News: Brad Lander, the New York City comptroller who is running for mayor, was detained by ICE agents at an immigration court as he tried to escort a migrant out of the courthouse to prevent his arrest. nyti.ms/4jWkANE
