no worries at all! xiv has been a treasure trove of weird neat facts i didn't know before & read about because they appeared in some random quest once, and the poop quests 100% should just be that without the implied disgust-based humor and it's incredibly weird that it's not!

it's one of those jokes that was funny once (depending on how you interpret your newbie adventurer) & has gotten more confusing the more it appears. it's just irl uses of dung that're common knowledge & wouldn't be a shock to a well traveled WoL or otherwise not gross bc adventuring is a dirty job.

my cat would do something similar, lay on your forearm and when you tried to move her she'd lay in a different way. so if she was draped across, she'd lay longways, or start nibbling on fingers if you kept trying to move her.
