Mostly reading the news at the end of the day then getting real high afterwards, has been my best strategy, I find if I consume too much “omg this keeps getting worse” information early in the day my anger & anxiety level bounces around

Once the shift went from Twitter to platforms where you can’t share and repost easily, like Instagram, it just reinforced the self… as opposed to building community, the writing was on the wall… this repression of connection, will force people to find each other in the streets sooner or later imo

Exactly, it makes things more difficult, but I think the doom scrolling on Twitter has been replaced by this is America or Crimethinc podcasts. Things are more diffuse now, which is probably good, things are getting off Corporate media, which is good.

Although I suspect whatever comes next for widespread social media adoption is going to be post literate, TikTok, no thanks

These things only worked the way they worked for us the way we wanted them to because no one had really figured out how to monetize … now, I don’t see any turning back from it. I don’t see any other social media app replacing Twitter as my go to news source like it was in the last decade.

But we haven’t seen mess uprisings like Occupy or Black Lives Matter recently, I think that will determine the utility of the next social app and widespread adoption of it for people on the left beyond the off huff post writers here

Yes, I tried it, just felt like an echo chamber and was too difficult to use so I don’t ever see wide adoption of it. I found a Signal thread to be just as useful, and maybe that’s how I stay connected is in Signal?

I just think the era of social media being useful for the way our minds work & we wanna engage is over. There was a golden era it ended, the circle has closed there’s no going back .
