Keep it in, if it's an infection, removing the jewelry could do more harm than good, as was mentioned above, do the salt soaks religiously and keep the lip disinfected inside and outside

Also if it doesn't start getting better after a full day or two,

if it becomes really red and if you feel it's hot, if there's any pus or if the swellings gets bad enough that it's like it's spreading. Don't panic either, piercings can lead to nasty stuff but there's enough time to see it coming most of the time.

That's good, try to not touch it too much with both your hands and your tongue as well outside of cleaning it, I've had like 8, trust me they hate that
