Posted by so.informed. War criminal Dick Cheney, the architect of the “war on terror,” has died. Former Vice President and notorious war criminal Dick Cheney died at the age of 84 on Monday. Cheney was unapologetically one of the most prominent architects of “the war on terror” which led to the murder of hundreds of thousands of civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan and destabilization of the entire region. He endorsed and condoned the use of torture and arbitrary detainment by the U.S. government at black sites and Guantanamo, and expanded and applauded the surveillance of U.S. citizens by the government. In the earlier years of his political career, Cheney opposed both an end to apartheid in South Africa as well as Nelson Mandela’s freedom. He also served as the CEO of Halliburton, which has contributed heavily to the climate crisis.

Aid is far below the agreed level: 600 trucks a day were promised, yet fewer than 100 trucks have entered on any day. Basic foods are still banned - No eggs have entered Gaza since March, and meat arrives only in symbolic amounts. This is deliberate starvation under the label “ceasefire:” Children are denied the food needed to recover from famine, fuel is scarce, and no machinery is allowed to clear rubble or restore water and electricity. The killing went quiet - but it did not end.

They have provided zero evidence to support these claims, and at least one of those who we’ve killed was a lifelong fisherman whose boat displayed a distress signal. Two people have survived one of these attacks, and they are not being put on trial or being held. They are simply being repatriated. That implies they had committed no crime, and if they were less lucky, they would be dead anyway. The Colombian president has instructed his attorney general to meet with the families of those harmed and initiate legal action against the US. In response, Tr*mp has offered no explanation or apology. Instead, he has threatened to withhold funding from the country. He also, once again, doesn’t seem to know the difference between Columbia, the country, and Columbia, the university and clothing company. The very fact that they don’t even try to board these boats, opting to destroy them instead, suggests they likely have no evidence of harm being done by those on board. Vance and Tr*mp have even made jokes about these murders. They don’t take these lives (almost 30, at this point), or committing war crimes, seriously. We will pay for these extrajudicial killings at some point. I’m just not sure how or when. But when it happens, remember whose fault it was. #venezuela #columbia #fishing #boats #crime
