I'm a veteran male gamer from the UK. My RPG playing goes way back past Baldur's Gate, to student D&D. On BSN and Xbox as SofaJockey. Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Horizon, Fallout, Last of Us, God of War, Hitman, Death Stranding, Day's Gone & Assassin's Creed.
There's some logic here. An interview is only a provisional basis of what an applicant will be like, so something aligned to a probationary period is sensible. There's no need for diligent employers to have an 'easy way out' for two years as currently.

In many companies that would be average length of service...

I'm sure it'll find its audience, though it's of no interest to me as I prefer single player.

Helpfully this is not from Guerrilla (other than some IP pointers) so they can still be cracking on with Horizon III.

You ignore it with a new actor.

The series has been running 60 years. Should Bond be 90 years old? No.

Craig's 5-films told a story start to finish.

The next movie will start a new one.

This is fine, so long as they stick to the policy of having actual celebrities...

(let's not go Z-list as many other 'celebrity' shows do)

The BBC is held to high standards of journalism that no-one else is held to.

That's good because the public broadcaster should have high standards.

That's inconsistent because others can more easily broadcast & print any old tripe.

There are occasional elements of bias in specific cases, both left favourable and right favourable.

But more important is supporting an independent fact-based public broadcaster in a world where there are too many partisan news voices and channels.

We know another game is on the way.
If it was closer we might have seen something.
This informs a slightly longer wait. Both are fine.

The Reapers are repairing London in the Control ending, so it's probably mixed. 😆
November 7, 2025 at 6:55 PM
No biggie. It'll be ready when it's ready.

More importantly there's now a huge hole in the gaming schedule, summer 2026 when no-one else was dropping a game release.

And a game studio panic about what will be squashed by GTA VI at year end. 😅

It's a fantastic place to start.

Arguably the older games (3 & New Vegas) are a nudge stronger plot-wise but they are also much older and at least one is getting a significant remaster.

(and there's little carryover between games)

Fallout 4 is the entry I've played most by far.

I find these transitions (for mayors and Presidents) bemusing.

In the UK of course, the winner is in the job the morning after the election.

If finger crossing worked, I'm sure many would be crossed tonight.

I really hope they pull though.

I'm coming up to a year off Twitter/X.
I don't miss it and my mental health has improved considerably.

Notwithstanding recent events, crime on the railways is very low at 16 events per million journeys. Last night, from the 999 call to arrest took 8 minutes.

The question makes very little sense.
Safety on trains is excellent.

'Terrorism' is typically defined as

'calculated use of serious violence to create widespread fear and achieve a political, religious, or ideological goal.'

So criminal or gang or random violence many cause terror by terrorising, but it's not 'terrorism'.

The start (and end of the year) is just a construct. The year has not always ended in December so it's just a happenstance.

The start of the future is always today.

I'd expect any such shenanigans would have zero impact on a Scottish Employment tribunal panel...
November 1, 2025 at 2:29 PM
Employment law in Scotland is no trivial matter. Most employment cases are settled, so I'd expect money will change hands. It's also possible that some employees will seek their day 'in court' regardless, though that could take a couple of years to get a full hearing.
