an overpopulation of Demodex mites in the hair follicles that the host’s immune system can’t control. She said these mites are always present in felines, but it only becomes an issue when the cat has an auto immune decline. I asked if she thought it could be bacterial, fungal, or a yeast infection ⬇️

his red blood count’s on the low side, but officially he’s not anemic. So, we’ll have to keep an eye on this. The rest of his blood work looked good including liver, kidneys & platelets. My vet suspects that the sores could possibly be demodectic mange which is a skin disease caused by ⬇️

I hope it’s something easily resolved & isn’t serious. These 2️⃣ will enter the shelter’s barn cat program & hopefully find a wonderful home. Tonight I’m helping set up the traps & we’ll see who else we can catch. Send us good luck 🍀!
