I did nothing with visual/fiber arts for my first half century on earth, then I suddenly started weaving 2 yrs ago, and quilting 10 months ago, and it has been life changing!

I also serve on the board of the Newbury School of Weaving, hmu if you have any questions about it. 🧵Weaving on a 250 year old loom at the school last summer was one of the most intense experiences I have had at the intersection of research and craft. www.newburyschoolofweaving.org

This looks so much more pleasant than what I am about to do, work on the copy edits for my hops book all day! And face the fact that I have to delete even more shipwrecks from the manuscript. 🥲

One thing that is not terrible: taking my amazing students to visit our amazing on campus resources today, including the UWM Archives and the American Geographic Society Library (2nd biggest map collection in the country!).

One thing that is not terrible: taking my amazing students to visit our amazing on campus resources today, including the UWM Archives and the American Geographic Society Library (2nd biggest map collection in the country!).
I am eating one at this very moment, maybe a little paler than those? They are my very favorite apple, and even when picked a little early they can sweeten up (better in fridge than counter, I would say).

I just ordered your book for my university library! It takes a second to fill out the form but it’s one of my favorite ways to support authors, and in my 25 years at UWM I don’t think they have ever declined a purchase request despite being an eternally underfunded public university.
