Phew, at least I’m in good company

One of my favourite books of last year! I hadn’t read any Hardy before I read it though (and odd choice!) and I love it doubly for having spurred into finally getting to him.

All worth a look, in the unlikely event that you ever run short of reading material. I’ve bookmarked your stack above. Hamnet has been on my bedside table unread for a shamefully long time!

I’ve just spent a year writing one (the hard part is now finding someone to rep it), so always intrigued to see how it’s done by others. I loved Elizabeth Lowry’s ‘The Chosen’ (Thomas Hardy) and Tan Twang Eng’s ‘The House of Doors’ (Somerset Maugham), plus Mellany Ambrose’s portrayal of young Keats.
