‘Tis the season to write one Christmas card, feel virtuous AF, celebrate, then leave the card unsent until the last minute, when it gets posted with the others*, if it’s lucky.

And now officially cold enough to wear the Big Furry Hat.

And officially time to put off essay writing by taking the official thinking cup for a thinking walk to find coffee.

Finally, a desk of my own where I can watch some of my favourite books fall over. I clearly need to round up more books for MY team.

Definitely. Fridge-worthy wisdom.
I'm still a bit vague on the three act structure. Start it, have stuff happen that people care about, finish it before it runs out of steam is still my favourite structure, and it allows for all the beginnings ends and middles you need.

Celebrating my first local library card in more than a decade by borrowing these biographical beauties. The library building itself isn’t bad looking either.

Dictionary of the week: the Penguin Dictionary of Literary Terms & Theory. So tasty. Today’s definition is ‘interior monologue’. The voices in my head have been musing on how IM relates to the term ‘interiority’ in general after a class last night. (How) do they differ? Is one a form of the other?

Footnotes, footnotes, footnotes. Goodbye fiction (for now): things are about to get real and geeky.

In an audio reading slump and out of audible credit so had to steal one of the husband’s: good lord, he can rhyme and is surprisingly hilarious (Lord B, not the husband)

Tuesday blues day: first blue sky post and first desk of my own in a million years. But no chair yet, so I’m lounging on the sofa admiring it and - obviously - feeling ten times more productive.
