I agree - auto approval is not the way, especially if it's someone popular who has people who dislike them. It could get abused extremely quickly.

I honestly read Felix as ace, but it's wild to me that people would bring up any ships that aren't being depicted in the art they're looking at. I'm so sorry you have to deal with it.

They see a man speak of feminism (in a way) and idolize him, but if a woman speaks of feminism (in a similar but different way) she's deserving of a witch hunt.

Nevermind that he's torturing himself and has realized that he is a bad person who abandoned his wife in her time of need, and nevermind the fact that he's incredibly self-aware that he is deserving of the hell he's put himself into and welcomes the punishment.

Unfortunately I think it's because they idealize James and want to *be* him, which is where the media illiteracy you mention comes in. They see a man defeating monsters and trying to "save the girl," and without any insight or self-reflection decide that he's to be admired.

Whoever wrote this is absolutely brain dead, not a single firing neuron would be found in their head.

I don't get it... pyramid head, probably the monster most famous from the series, is a literal manifestation of James' guilt toward HIS WIFE for how he treated her. Every single thing about the game is revolved around how he treats women and wants to be punished for it.

This is honestly a problem younger artists have more, but there's a weird elitist attitude comic-makers get toward anyone newer to the scene when they've 'worked in the business before' that's baffling to me. They seem to like the mentality that because they struggled, everyone else should. 😬
