Everyone is getting upset about the data centers. They pollute a lot and use a lot of energy and will eventually be very ugly/huge vacant buildings. And I understand being mad about that. Until you consider the state of the lazer tag industry at this moment, and how much help that sector needs.

One way of understanding retaliation against complaining sexual abuse victims is as a hedge against this kind of liability.
The big question on the horizon is how the insurance industry will respond to this. Studio films need to be insured, which involves risk assessment, and getting a company to insure a film against potential sexual harassment lawsuits could make some folks unhirable, and thus their films unmakable.

I can reassure the New York Times that networks of mutual protection, and misogynist retaliation efforts that benefit abusive men at the expense of the young women they prey upon, are very much still intact post-Me Too.

With really good health insurance it still cost $64 out of pocket to get my teeth cleaned, see a Dr for 4min about a small infection, purchase a 7day course of antibiotics. A LOT of ppl don’t just have $64.
