Past these highlights, very mediocre and would have instead just hung out and organized stuff with friends to see and do stuff around the city.

It's definitely a 5/10 con for me.
I would put DF at like a 7/10 con because there is other stuff to do.
AC was a 10/10 con for me.
There were at least some good moments like seeing old friends, making new ones, and experiencing some new stuff.

I'd only do it if I had a proper friend group that was planning to all room or go together.
With DF, you can at least walk around the city. At GSFC, if you don't have a car, you can public transit which takes forever (depending where you go) or you're out of luck and need to repay for parking.
