I’d rather listen to a human being sucking out loud than to a computer churning out mid

The human being sucking out loud will eventually improve

The computer won’t

People are using AI to circumvent their fear of failure

But with practice, failure can plant the seeds of greatness

YOU DON’T KNOW THAT until you actually try to do the thing

Don’t give up on yourself and outsource the work to a computer

Plenty of great music has been made by people who “couldn’t sing” or “couldn’t play”

Emphasis on MADE

I believe in my heart that anyone and everyone who wants to make music should do, regardless of their skill level, with whatever tools they have available

But I emphasize the word “MAKE”

Open your mouth, grab your instrument, make a sound, and do it over and over again until it sounds good to you

Sometimes I think AI-generated “artists” are able to trick so many people because the human artists they were listening to up to that point were already so formulaic to begin with

I think fans should listen more critically & artists should insist on finding themselves

AI won’t stand a chance then

If you’re making the kinda music you truly hear in your spirit, and not just adhering to formulas, no computer on Earth will be able to do “you” better than YOU.

I haven’t heard even one AI-generated song that was better than mediocre. It can only churn out mid.

AI-generated music can only “create” within the parameters of the human-generated music that already exists.

If the music you make can be accurately recreated by AI in a way that successfully tricks large groups of people, there is something deeply wrong.

I’ve been trying to find ways to articulate my hatred of AI-generated music that won’t come across as snobbish, but most of what I have to say about it can be boiled down to this:

None of the artists I like in any genre, regardless of era, make music that can be accurately predicted by a computer.

NEW:

The DOJ tells Judge James Boasberg that Kristi Noem made the decision that flights that had departed should continue on to El Salvador, in contravention of the court’s orders.
BREAKING:

“After receiving that legal advice, Secretary Noem directed that the AEA detainees who had been removed from the United States before the Court’s order could be transferred to the custody of El Salvador. “
