According to the non-partisan Tax Policy Center, around 50% of the plan's benefits go to the top 5% of taxpayers. The richest 1% alone receive a windfall tax cut worth over $61 billion in 2018. Meanwhile, nearly 30% of middle-class Americans would face a tax increase by 2027. Corporate tax rates would plummet from 35% to 20%, adding over $1 trillion to deficits over a decade with no guarantees employers will use the windfalls to create jobs or raise wages as supporters claim. History shows corporations are far more likely to buy back shares and increase executive compensation.   Congress must reject this indefensible giveaway that balloons deficits while failing most Americans.
