The event, held in Montreal, Canada, from October 29th to 31st, 2025, was an excellent opportunity for Jolene Phelps, a member of our Executive Core, to organize networking and mentorship spaces sponsored by SNEV. 🤝

💡 In this session, Dr. Lai will challenge the assumption that “seeing is believing” in EV biology. He will uncover how limitations in labeling specificity, signal persistence, and imaging depth can shape (and sometimes distort) our interpretation of EV behavior in vivo.

🔬 Dr. Lai is a leading expert in molecular bioimaging, developing high-precision tools to explore biological systems, from EVs to DNA repair mechanisms. His pioneering platforms are used by over 65 labs worldwide, driving advances in cancer biology, bioengineering, and therapeutics.

💡 Professor Buzás will uncover how adsorbed biomolecular coronas can mask EVs. She will discuss how smaller EVs can be within larger vesicles and how EVs can remain hidden in the ECM or among cellular debris, challenging our understanding of EV visibility and characterization.
