I don't think people understand how executive function taxing it is to be homeless.

To be homeless is to be a hunted animal.

in truth, there are as many reasons for being homeless as there are people experiencing it. it's not all mental health, substance use disorders, or whatever the flavor of the month may be.

some of us are alone in the world. some of us are survivors of violence. listen to people.

The belief that poverty and homelessness are about "individual choices" didn't arise on its own. It was manufactured through decades of messaging designed to protect the policies and interests that create mass precarity.

As this new poll shows, that propaganda campaign has been wildly successful.
Most US adults think individual choices keep people in poverty, new AP-NORC/Harris poll finds
A new AP-NORC poll finds that most U.S. adults think personal choices are a major driver of poverty and homelessness, while fewer blame a lack of government support.

How is AI *really* impacting jobs?

Henley Chiu, the CTO of Revealera, a jobs data analysis firm, analyzed 180 million jobs listings in 2024 and 2025, in an effort to find out. Chiu found an:

-8% drop in all jobs postings
-~30% drop in art, photography, writing jobs
-22% drop in journalism jobs
What’s really going on with AI and jobs?
Record-breaking layoff reports, Amazon's mass firings, and a slump in entry level employment. Is AI behind it all?

I think about this every single day because I have to.

Can you imagine not having to think about it because you were born into a family that had a home or wealth they passed down to you? It’s so odd to me that that is sometimes the difference. Nothing anyone did but be born into “the right” family.

This is all lies, and I don’t know what else I can add: Human beings are being dehumanized as “disorder” to be managed, punished, or disappeared.
