But don't get me wrong, I think parquet fits STAC pretty well. Large assets, links, some high level metadata. Just a mime-type to change and it everything works fine...

STAC is great and everything but I wouldn't extend it too far. The more diverse the data the more clients need to understand varied metadata - more extensions etc. You'd end up with different services masquerading as 1. Giving me flashbacks of OGC schemas with 10 namespaces... Simplicity ftw

I feel like I use gist by default and then maybe sp-gist if the geometries are very evenly distributed. I didn't think I've ever used brin
