We are three crones who have been swapping smut since we were maidens and therefore spend a lot of time yelling about romance books.

@collectingromance.bsky.social (and anyone else who might know), is it possible that I found a copy of Skye O'Malley with the original cover art???

Today's Little Free Library find: two Harlequin Silhouettes from the late 90s.

They're both single dad cowboy needs a wife books, so I'm probably not going to read them (even if "Her Torrid Temporary Marriage" is a *great* title), but I sure did get a lot of joy from finding them

Anyways, this is the book.

I kind of love the cover because it's so different. (The author painted it, no AI here.)

Ingrid made some canva templates for me to put quotes on (thanks @ingalingisme.bsky.social) and the stand-in she put in here just cracked me up.

No lies detected.

Apparently this cover is "sexually suggestive" according to bsky moderation.

Guess that's why we don't see bonkers clinches any more. Hooray, prudery!

But both versions are better than the most recent 2012 reprint. I prefer my cover art extra, please and thank you. Or at least interesting. Or at least indicative of the content. (Esme would never wear that.)

By the way, can we take a moment to appreciate the original cover: (I have a copy of the on upthread, a 2006 reprint)
