i like that! i totally get why it would be important to her that people understand how serious her condition. maybe “less dangerous”. i could even go for “less serious” which could be invalidating but is so much better than “not real”

red dyes can fade pretty quickly even in the winter. and im not personally a fan of the artificial looking strawberry blonde color that red dyes tend to fade into. so i’d just wear the red till it fades lighter than your roots then dye it to match
