Tall woman in a family of taller people. Unsure yet if I belong here, we shall see!
Had it once in my life and that was enough. I'm not a crier, but I remember going to see my doc (back in the days when I could get a same day appointment), I was starting to get a fever and was afraid throat was closing over. I was bawling. Had to drink meal replacement shakes, solids were a no.

Four times? WTF?

Ooh boy, strep throat is miserable if that's what you think you have. I had it some years ago, even drinking water was like tossing razor blades down my throat. Hope you're on the road to recovery soon!

I do not know what frogs taste like and have never eaten a gummy one either, but maybe that's what frogs taste like?

Snow = bad. Yellow snow = very bad.

Ours are getting a bit threadbare in a couple spots but not ready to give them up!

No but we were there for the World Series weekend (totally unrelated, we were there for another sport).

Ha, I just posted about the same thing, and it's pouring rain.

I guess jam could contain gelatin, but I'd think most jams would be vegetarian friendly.

Nooooo.

If scraping the car was the worst thing that could have happened, I probably have to give up my Canadian passport. 🤣 I'm all good!

Very salty. 😊 We used to get fresh cream from her too, so very thick. Not pasteurized of course back then.

Not sure, never tried it. I did grow up eating some homemade butter, my great aunt had a farm with cows.
December 1, 2025 at 1:07 AM
And I don't think a litre of whipping cream would give you a pound of butter but I'm not sure.

I too am in Nova Scotia. I don't buy it at regular price, Costco is normally about $5.50 these days for a 454 gram block. Some places are less on sale.
December 1, 2025 at 1:03 AM
I guess it depends on what you mean by a 'block.' I buy butter only when it's on sale, about $5 for a pound (454 grams) of butter.

I've frozen heavy cream by whipping it first, add sugar or whatever and freeze in blobs on a baking sheet then into a freezer bag. Then you have whipped cream for your hot chocolate, etc. whenever you want.
December 1, 2025 at 12:51 AM
I've yet to see butter for $10 a block thankfully.

Yeah I would not count on this either. While yes, your body can tell you when it's good to try to conceive and when it isn't, sometimes bodies don't conform to what they're supposed to do. I'm 50+, haven't menstruated for several months but wouldn't trust that either!

Years ago a colleague shared how much she loved them in a frozen package with cheese sauce. So I tried them with my son. We cooked them, each put one in our mouths. A moment later he's like, "Can I please spit this out?" I said sure, I'm definitely spitting this out! BLECH, it was squishy and gross

I added some parmesan and a bit of honey at the end.

I know Carrey is a popular actor but I really don't like him in anything.
