@profgalloway.com curious what your thoughts are on your advocacy for national service (and if memory serves you couple that with advocacy for a “gap year” for post HS seniors) w/an expansion on the GI Bill model for said service for post gap-year college.

Here’s how I measure “leadership”…

“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.'”

Exclusive: ‘Devastating consequences’ now inevitable but emissions cuts still vital, says António Guterres in sole interview before Cop30

After a few weeks of conference photo ops, I’m reminded how exceptional our photographer was for last year’s Let’s Rock Cancer. Huge thanks to Ana Reyes for capturing every electric moment under impossible lighting.

I might suggest the next democratic president turn the “ballroom” into a warming shelter and soup kitchen. And demand that any donor, congressperson etc, may only gain a meeting of they commit at least one-hour of service at the newly designated Department of Human Decency.

As an architect, I can’t ignore the numbers behind the proposed White House “ballroom.”

90,000 sq ft. $300 million.
That’s $3,333 per square foot — roughly triple what even high-security federal buildings cost.

Just naked and brazen corruption. All states represented by Democrats in the Senate.

Time to stiffen our spines and demand that we only fund a government that obeys the law.

She I think of the latter days of the Bill Belichick era in New England, I will think of the fact he let NFL starting offensive depth WALK out the door and left the cupboard so bare it was getting Brady and then his replacements killed.

A recent study shows that people are able to perceive biodiversity through sights & sounds, and those perceptions correlate with the actual biodiversity of a natural place.

The study adds to a growing body of research on biodiversity perception & its connections to human mental health & well-being.
How do we perceive biodiversity? We can see it & hear it

I tell ya what….call it whatever you want, “War” or “Defense” so forth.

What I’d love to see is a true understanding what the difference of those terms really mean and act with deliberation that doesn’t lead to a decision making process that leads to lots of dead poor people steered into service.
