The bigger story following the designation of four antifascist groups as SDGT’s, with the intent of FTO designation, is that a far-right grifting nazi-sympathizer living in London, who is directly responsible for people being murdered and assaulted, has influence over federal government policy now.

The idea that what people need is more proof rather than an honest reckoning, explanation and campaign around the already out there truths we all have access to is liberal propaganda

As I was reading this, I got a notification that the day laborer center in my hometown in LA county was being raided by CBP.

This fascist state terror is overwhelming and we must keep fighting.

Some excerpts that stood out to me from District Judge Jeff Cummings' order today, compelling the release of at least some people found to have been detained in violation of a prior consent decree limiting how and when federal immigration agents can carry out warrantless arrests.

In Male Fantasies (1977), Klaus Theweleit read personal letters of Freikorps members to show how the violence at the core of fascist masculinity escalates as their fear of losing control grows. They get more extreme when confronted with potential “feminized” accountability for violent domination.
Really unnerving point from Nicole Hemmer, historian of the right: Trump's Epstein fiasco could drive MAGA to push him to go even fuller authoritarian, because the whole project is now in such serious doubt. She's so good on MAGA's future.

Very excited that I’ve figured out a way to have this song kick off a class session for my “Scientific Rationality and Modern Life” course for the spring

Her daughter is not poor and materially vulnerable in the way that Epstein et al’s victims were and Kelly seems not to understand what this signals to the men in her daughter’s life who were already much more likely to be her abusers in the first place.
Everyone who posts this should note that Megyn Kelly has a 14-year-old daughter. Do not let her off the hook on this.
This was always where this was headed.

When people talk about “the class character” of abuse, this is what we’re trying to get at. People who are living on the ragged edge being taken advantage of by the rich and powerful and complying and/or keeping quiet because they can barely make ends meet and the rich are vindictive as fuck

The west side is being hit hard today. Similar roving kidnapping operations seen in mid city & ktown last week. Cannot stress how much community defense is necessary and needed right now.
TODAY - WEST LOS ANGELES

ICE is patrolling from the ocean to La Brea & W Jefferson Blvd to National Blvd. Beginning at 9:45 am, there have been multiple reports of known ICE vehicles circling in order to conduct rolling kidnappings. So far, ICE has detained at least 7 people.

Three years out, some coalitions that originally opposed the games are now pushing for reforms.

NOlympics LA organizers double down on their position: "Pretending that a 'no harm' version of the Olympics is possible is not only extremely naive. It’s dangerous for what happens to us after 2028"
Olympic reform efforts are setting us up for a double disaster.

The writing is on the wall: people don’t want the Olympics in their city. But for the people of Los Angeles, LA28 brings the possibility of something even more alarming. What if the Olympics never left?

If I were an illegally detained migrant laborer, I would simply come up with $1,500 in ransom after weeks/months of imprisonment in a wildcat internment camp. This, to me, is proof that we can trust the process, regardless of how slow and inadequate, as it marches inextricably towards justice.
///BREAKING/// Judge Jeffrey Cummings orders that by noon of Nov. 17, he will order the release of all of the 615 "Operation Midway Blitz" detainees identified as class participants (at least those still here in the country) once they pay a $1,500 bond.

It’s a great title, and worth noting that it is at least near-verbatim from Bruce Alexander’s Rat Park experiments from the 1970s. US prohibitionism and cold war science has fucked us all up so much.

If you read that ranting interview with Palantir’s Alex Karp in Wired and are wondering where that bit about sacrifices came from, I think it’s part of Karp, Theil, and others on the technofascist right’s obsession with French philosopher Rene Girard and his theory of sacrificial scapegoats.

Lots of hard, shitty lessons being learned from this presidency. And one of the many I hope you're learning is, white supremacy is incompatible with reality, and cannot exist without historical revisionism.
1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️
