I've seen quite a few small creators get hit by a similar sort of impersonation-into-scam attack.
The smaller the online presence of a creator - the more difficult it is for them to counteract the impersonation, even more so for ones who employ a kayfabe online presence as part of their performance.

I'm sure you've already seen this, but if you haven't - Wafferscotch has finally returned (but I've been unable to get a confirmation of whether that bsky account is real or an impostor).

From what limited information I'm able to grasp from the public portion of his patreon, it appears that he's been moving house until about a month ago, so we can hope for a glorious return one of these months... 🙏

Have you been able to confirm that this bsky account is The Real Wafferscotch(tm)?

I've seen this account too, but I couldn't find anything to confirm it on their website, twitter, deviantart or public patreon.

I quite miss their wonderful artwork, been a while since they posted anything publicly.

Yeah, I'm stuck in a similar boat of not being able to use Bluesky from mobile because of FW version limitations.

I think there are some alternative clients out there but I haven't looked into any so far.
