1. You are right, social media has devolved discussion into yelling aggressive talking point past one another, and discussion / good faith debate is mostly dead online.

SO, unless you want MEANINGLESS virtue signaling, there isn't ANYTHING congress can do to help unless the swing & GOP voters en-masse start complaining enough to their Reps / Sens that they have to do something or lose power in '26.
Until '26 midterms, the public needs to pressure congress.
