I finished season 1 of TOS! I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would and I feel like the pop cultural idea of Kirk is pretty far off. Like the idea of him is horny swashbuckler but I would say so far on the show his defining trait is actually duty. Duty to his ship and to his crew.

This TOS episode has an AI that runs a planet by giving the inhabitants a "peaceful" society with no creativity. The AI says I reserve creativity for myself so Kirk makes it destroy itself because not allowing human creativity is harming the people it's programmed to help. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's pretty interesting how much of the stuff they were figuring out as they went. 18 episodes in and we finally have a Federation and a Starfleet. They were calling it stuff like the Star Service before.

You have to take it as a relic of its time so most of the sexist stuff is whatever, but I just can't with the skants that don't even cover these ladies' underwear. Poor Uhura just trying to do her job with her butt fully hanging out.

I saw the most FAFO accident on my way to work today. This huge truck was going straight with a green light and a car was trying to sneak a right turn in front of it and didn't stop even though they had no right of way and no room and the truck just completely sideswiped it.

My washer/dryer is in a closet on the porch and when I went to do some laundry today there was a little frog in the washer. I got him out but we did traumatize each other during the process because he didn't understand I was helping him and I got startled when he jumped on me.
