Could not even imagine living in Utqiagvik.. check it out. No sunrise until jan 22.. but then again come May it will be sun almost 24 hours day there.

Clay Higgins ..you are an embarrassment to your state.

If someone has their name in those files, there is a reason.

Voters will remember your actions and they will have consequences.

I’m pretty sure there are people in your state who will gladly vote you out.

6 hours.. 6.. that’s what we are at here folks. But poor Utqiagvik has 48 minutes.. Final sunrise and sunset for that town. They won’t have a sunrise until jan 22.

I guess I shouldn’t complain.
November 18, 2025 at 3:15 AM
Today is utqiagvik’s last sunset until May. I guess I shouldn’t complain. They have no daylight at all. So dark there.

With less than seven and a half hours of daylight I am definitely feeling like I just need to hibernate…
November 14, 2025 at 2:16 AM
I gave up posting our daylight hours months ago.

There has been such a dramatic change though in those months and I’m starting to hit winter depression.

It’s only November

Not my photos .. but we have some beautiful Auroras here too.

The first snow of the season and of course there are already accidents on the Glenn Hwy.. I hope all are ok.

I can’t believe I am still harvesting broccoli and celery. Cabbage is still alive too. I am in Alaska. Think about that if you don’t believe in global warming.
October 22, 2025 at 8:28 PM
Apparently I was wrong about the snow.. we now have some on the back mountains, but none on the closest ones to us.

I went on a baking spree. I made 2 loaves of zucchini bread, a loaf of banana bread and red lobster cheddar biscuits. Those went with the stew I made for dinner. Time for a glass of wine.

My son’s stunning pictures of the northern lights. I haven’t seen them like this in years.

This gives a really good idea of how much our daylight hours differ all over the state. Credit

This is what the news doesn’t show. The agony of a mother.

The news clips always show the men while the women are hidden.

This is what the world need to see. Not just bodies wrapped in sheets. Let Israel see this? Does this starving child look any different than a concentration camp victim?

Haven’t posted daylight hours in a while. Sad to see the sun will be setting before 11 tonight. But it will probably be light for a while after that thank goodness.

The pic says these are the times for Tuesday, but Jackie Purcell assure us it is for Wednesday. Almost a minute less tomorrow.

We only lost 29 seconds today and Fairbanks lost less at 8. Sadly right now the Fairbanks region is fighting wildfires and homes are at risk.
June 24, 2025 at 6:20 AM
I have not been posting lately. But tomorrow is our longest day. Please note that we only gain 8 seconds of daylight. I am so sad that we have already reached the point where we start losing daylight again.
June 20, 2025 at 9:07 AM
Check it out! Over 19 hours of daylight in Anchorage. But on June 21 we start losing daylight again. Already getting depressed about this.

Mine are all goofy. Then there is Cooper the Crazy. He’s the tall one
June 4, 2025 at 6:50 AM
Fairbanks has almost 21 hours .. which means it is not getting dark at all.
Sorry I haven’t been posting. Don’t know why I got out of the habit.

Today started very early. At 630 we were at the dealership for the 75k mile checkup on the car. $1700 later I have new brake pads, rotors and the oil change I went for.
