They somehow fall for the line that if you make the rich people richer, then the money will "trickle down" to the poor people.
But the reality, as we all know: it doesn't. It just gets sucked up, and stays sucked.

Bizarre, isn't it? She wants to know WHY they now rush out information on awful events such as this.
The answer is of course to forestall the inevitable Hatred-Brewing that "some" people will otherwise rush to indulge themselves in, and thereby to minimise the risk of violent response.

Ditto for Foreign Aid. It doesn't seem to occur to the same people that if you impoverish third world countries they will come looking for a safe place to live.
