My son was into Ninjago for a while, but I have neither space, nor money to go in on the very lovely looking city sets. But the micro versions are cute, and I have insider points!

...*had* insider points.

Wrapped up Act 2 of my D&D campaign yesterday, now on hiatus until next year: One PC definitely dead, another 4 PCs missing, 3 NPC allies confirmed dead, alongside 2 piles of ash which may be their other two NPC allies.

I think I've given them plenty to contemplate.

Made a few purchases at Salute: Woodland Dwellers and Observer miniatures from Dungeons & Lasers, Tenfold Dungeon's Wizards Sanctum, a 3d printed astrolabe and magic portal.
April 12, 2025 at 4:40 PM
Finally got all of this printed, now I just need time to paint and assemble it. Got a bunch of Draconian miniatures printing too. Looking forward to putting this on a table in front of players.

Painting the Gnoll Warseeker from Steamforged Games Epic Encounters. There's a lot going on on this guy, it's really fun to paint.

Finally got the D&D stamps framed and up on the wall. The Royal Mail did a great job with these, and they needed displaying.

Well, prep for Act 2 of my current campaign is progressing, I've got 16 players, and these are their characters...

I'm amused to see Steve Jackson Games running a Kickstarter for Fighting Fantasy books. I assume this means the British Steve Jackson and the US Steve Jackson have finally merged into one Steve Jackson to rule us all.

It's always nice to take delivery of a Kickstarter reward, but this one deserves a shout out to Role & Play Press, their Map Library is really nice, a very solid case containing 50, 2-sided, dry-wipe maps, with their One-Shot Wonders book that makes use of them. Very pleased with this one.

Spent the past few days listening to Espedair Street. Love that book. Damn I miss Iain Banks.

I decided to attempt something this year, and I have actually now made a start on adapting the Amber Diceless Role-playing system to a One Piece RPG. My aim is to have something viable for play-testing by the end of the year. We'll see how that goes...

More miniature painting today, an Elf Paladin (or cleric?) and a human fighter. I was pleased to get this fighter mini, obviously based on the picture in the 2014 D&D PHB, so I've tried to paint him to match that.

The original Elite was an incredible feat of computer programming. This is worth an hour of your time.

Been replaying the Talos Principle 2, and am finally back in Anthropic Hills. This is still one of my favourite views in the game.

A break from work has given me a chance to work on updating my D&D campaign setting doc for Act 2 which will run this year. Having destroyed the Guild hall at the end of Act 1, I've been adapting the bastion rules to be incorporated in the rebuilding.

Couldn't resist new Lego day, so I picked up the new Creator 3-in-1 Dragon set. I think it stands up as a Green Dragon next to the Red from the D&D set. The wing design is clever, and I really like the horns on the head.

Two more done, a wizard and a paladin from Wizkids, painted with Army Painter speedpaints.
December 29, 2024 at 2:33 PM
Time to start painting up my backlog of miniatures, starting with my white dragon. This is the Wizkids young while dragon from the unpainted Nolzur's range, painted using Army Painter paints.
And so I finally have a full set of painted chromatic dragons!

I think 2025 should be the year we add more Pangolin and fantasy variations of them to our TTRPGs.

Not enough love for these funky little mammalian tanks.

Giant Pangolin as a mount?

Hell yeah.

Dire Pangolin that basically looks like a shield wall?

Awesome.

They're such funky little guys.

Merry Christmas everyone, this Christmas has been very miniature filled for me, with a bunch from the Sand and Stone D&D collection under the tree!

Well @mightylancergames.bsky.social, it's day 24 so I reach the end of your advent calendar with this fantastic beholder-kin. You've definitely made me a fan of Reaper Bones this year! An excellently curated calendar. #MLGAdvent
