Life was life-ing, so it took me two months to prep the parts for this, but it's done! I built a dang picnic table! Proper furniture that I made! With no kit, no instructions. Just some wood and tools and an old, busted table I could study to recreate it!

Google AI once again killing it. Trying to figure out why the Toasters album "Don't Let The Bastards Grind You Down" isn't on streaming. Google says it's because there's no song or band by that name, then suggests looking for the song by The Toasters, from an album that doesn't exist.

I recently realized my projects for the house would be much easier if I had a workbench. So, I built one. It's the first carpentry project I've ever actually finished, so I will only be taking praise at this time. I'm proud of it and know what I did wrong, so if you see a mistake, no you didn't.

After repairing part of it, it became clear I'm going to have to replace the whole thing, part by part, but I'm really happy with the progress so far, and my unearned confidence is feeling slightly more earned.

And now, this is his house.

Psh... who even plays that game enough to know that?

A movie that takes place where you're from...

I grew up thinking this was a story everyone knew, only to find it's a story that only people from a very specific region of Maine know.

Finally put up the shelves on a media shelf in the living room and needed a DVD to line them up at the right height. Grabbed the first one in the box, and it couldn't be more on brand.

Sometimes, out of nowhere, I think about how this guy in Ghostbusters was minutes from discovering latent psychic abilities, but Venkman was too distracted by Ray and his own horniness to notice.

I'm upset about the TikTok ban, even though I don't use it myself. Luckily I still have my "wind down at night" app, Marvel Snap, which is totally un...affect..ed...

New house thing to figure out: Why (and, logistically, how) is there a pile of sand behind a panel of drywall in the basement?

Sometimes I feel like a real dummy, like when I buy a new washer and it turns out to be too big to fit through any passage in the house. But then, I come up with the idea to build a PVC wire frame to make sure the next one will fit, and I feel like a goddamn genius.

I'm usually not a selfie guy, let alone a posting-a-selfie guy, but I always feel like more handsome in an event space bathroom mirror than anywhere else in the world.

Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn’t Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, or Alice In Chains.*

Harvey Danger's 'Where have all the merrymakers gone?' is an unironic all-timer for me. Beautiful, poppy, weird, and unlike what I was hearing from anyone else. Gonna listen to it right now.

I have a podcast devoted to quickly cancelled TV shows,* so there are several I'll never stop thinking about, for very different reasons.

I legitimately love that Bluesky is starting to feel like the sweet spot of Twitter's activity. It's also very funny to me to see someone excited about leaving Twitter while all of that new activity crashes the Bluesky servers.

I'm taking this as a good omen. On January 6th, I tried to de-stress by watching Tremors 6. Instead, I shut it off 15 minutes in, because it's shit, and I've been angry at it ever since for making that day even worse.

But now, the creators of Tremors have the rights back. We're gonna fuckin' win.

Based on this one, Bluesky thinks I have a lot of money and don't know what to do with it?

Everyone I know already knows this about me, but I (mostly) unironically love Jaws: the Revenge and will rewatch it every chance I get. The plot and acting become deeper and more nuanced every time I do.

Something I was recently trying to figure out: It's a well-established fact in Beetlejuice fandom is that the color palette is black and white stripes, green, and purple, but strangely, there's very little actual purple in the movie. Then, Tubi recommended the Beetlejuice cartoon, and...

Waking up to see a beautiful view of the mountain that was a backdrop to my childhood? Glorious.

Seeing that view because I woke up and had to get fully dressed to walk down the road to pee in a real bathroom, cuz the nearby outhouse has a monster from my nightmares in it? Bullshit. Never again.

Originally, my answer was originally going to be Doctor Who, "Heaven Sent." Which, funny enough, is also about a protagonist being stuck for a long time on a mostly empty planet, being stalked by an unknowable, faceless evil. I feel like there's something to learn about myself here.

My favorite thing about this review isn't that this person is complaining that a book that purports to just have longest known prime number, written down, is just the longest known prime number, written down. It's that on March 17th, 2020, this was the thing that mattered enough to give one star.
