Found out tonight that Short Circuit 2 is on YouTube. Started it expecting to find that the movie I loved as a kid is worse than the original, which already didn't hold up. Halfway through, it's already way better than I remember, and Bonnie Tyler hasn't even entered the picture.

Since moving here, I've thought this narrow, one-way street needed speed bumps, but worried that requesting them would be obnoxious outsider behavior. But I did the request yesterday, after I watched a semi speed the wrong way up it, snag a power cable, and fully rip a light pole out of the ground.

5 and a half years ago, the world shut down and took most of my social outlets with it, including @trashnightvideo.bsky.social at the Brattle. They were one of the first to go digital, and in my toughest times, monthly Trash Night Twitch streams have been my best pressure release.

Last night, my wife and I started Ghostbusters 2, knowing that we had to pause it an hour in. As it started, she asked if I knew what would be happening then. I said, "the guys are interrupting Venkman's date, covered in slime." So close. It was the start of the date scene instead of the end.

First Halloween living in our own house, in The Spookiest Place On Earth, we prepared for tons of trick-or-treaters. We got one family. So, I guess we have a lot of candy eating in our future.
