Sloe Burn Games
@sloeburngames.bsky.social
We are a small women-led indie studio making emotionally engaging games for queer and female audiences.

And we may or may not be working on a beloved gothic romance adaptation right now
Copying from our IG page, here are our (kind of joking kind of not) New Year's Resolutions as an Indie Studio:
- Be demure and mindful with the scope
- Unclutter mechanics that don’t spark joy
- Find the fun(ding)

playing decision based games is always like "Is this fun or a constant dread of making choices that will forever compromise my chances of romancing the character I want?"

serious questions: what is a socially acceptable number of Zelda songs I can add to a shared Christmas playlist?

Romance is a big deal for us and we were talking of how the tropes go in video games.

Do you think the Meet Cute is important in games? Like that special moment when the two main characters meet, ex. Max and Chloe or Rinoa and Squall?

So, our game has this strong component of romance (not a dating sim) but it is really dark and dangerous. Now where should we draw the line here? What is too dark for romance?

PS. We tried to find the answer on booktok and it didn't help.

Ok, so we have this cursed ship idea that we MUST post on all our social channels, here it goes:

KraDOS - Kratos and GLaDOS

He lets her call him daddy. She lied about his cake, though.

Hey there @bsky.app!

We were told that if we came here and said we are an indie studio making romancy queer games you'd give us fame and fortune and - most important - followers.

So... yeah, what's up?
