Being flawed is for sure normal but not reason to be nasty - had folks try to get one of my cohosts fired from her writing job, harass me for a week + tweet at James telling him not to come on bc folks insisted I “hate” Spike (and I don’t! He’s a fave). That’s not behavior I tolerate or excuse.

(Although seeing how….intense some Spike folks get online has made me like him way less, unfortunately, bc I think folks tend to act as though you HAVE to like him bc he’s perfect and are mad if you don’t agree)

Ha you don’t need to convince me, Spike is my fave - I think she’s also on purpose saying nice things about all the bfs even though certain corners of the fandom love to get furious about the ships and will never be happy unless she says “I love the exact boyfriend you do and hate the others”

I feel like James Marsters and Eliza Dushku have such good chemistry with EVERYONE they share a scene with bc both exude charm (and are both wildly hot). But yes, a throuple of Buffy, Faith + Robin while Spike + Angel are a couple would be the dream.

But again I think she's saying the idea of a boring man sounds nicer as opposed to the idea of a man who comes with a lot of drama like Buffy's vampire boyfriends. I don't think she's saying "Buffy should be with Riley."

I fully agree with her while still preferring Spike + Buffy.
