What a travesty Trump is.. Trump to Putin: Will you concede any of the land you’ve taken? Putin: no. Trump to Zelensky: Will you give up any land taken by Russia? Zelensky: no. #Trump We have the basis of a great deal .. only I could have got this..it won’t be easy, but a deal is possible. Jeez.

Accessing a personal pension(s) is so complex. Most pots are less than cost of a car yet try buying a short term annuity without an IFA (who charge); try getting some of your tax-free cash and move funds to different providers. It’s a mess and needs simplification for consumers. #pensions #IFA

The notion of Britain’s decline.. the harking back to a golden age when everything was better is a fallacy..the workhouse, childhood mortality, no healthcare or welfare state, no universal education or suffrage. It’s more a sense of powerlessness than nostalgia, but the Right exploits it..

Trump succeeded where Biden failed because Israel would not stop in 2024 until Gaza had been destroyed and the path to further territorial control secured; they’ve achieved their goal. Perhaps the growing calls for a two-state settlement also rang alarm..either way Biden’s plan was mostly the same.

Learn from wonderful “garden suburbs” like Hampstead GS and Letchworth, compared to Peterlee and Basildon etc. The former were out of the reach of most workers. What has changed? today’s build standards are appalling. Hope they are more than some detailed brickwork here and there and bit of green.

There’s an empirical way to test media bias..count columns, words, pictures, comments, position (top story on web page, front page etc). Today 6 Israelis murdered in Jerusalem; 32 Palestinians murdered in Gaza. 6 more inc’ two children starved to death. Media in the West not even close to “balanced”

I’ve been involved in housing for 40 years; 2025: poor quality, high density flats define many towns/cities; deregulated PRS with high rents and no security beyond the AST; no council housing for “general needs” - all the best council homes sold long ago under the RTB. High rents. It’s depressing!

Silly language from Bridget Phillipson, SoS for Education: she said schools and parents should "double down" to get children into classrooms at the start of the 2025 term. It would help to improve attendance hugely if primary and secondary/high schools were on the same sites wherever possible…

There may be good outcomes from merging English councils (e.g. improving housing for care leavers), but save money it won’t. It isn’t hard to find comparable data - just look at the current 132 unitaries (yep, 132). What a waste already with much time and money spent by LAs on their preference.

Well, Tony Blair’s success as envoy of the Quartet on the Middle East back in 2015 and prior, makes him well qualified to advise Trump…what a disaster… BTW, back then, The US, UN, EU and Russia were all committed to a two-state solution…!
