For a brief moment today I reflected on the family members we left behind when we left Texas for Michigan, and past Thanksgivings. I then remembered that they are bat shit crazy MAGA bigots and this was a stress free Thanksgiving where I didn't have to defend common sense even once. It was great!

In TX I had to listen to people bitch when a forecasted hurricane turned out to be milder than predicted and didn't kill anyone. In MI it's winter storms. Just be grateful if the prediction is off a bit but treat its arrival per the forecast so you'll be prepared either way. Not hard to do.

SW Michigan sounds rough outside this morning. Wind is here. Snow is coming. So glad I finished all the shopping yesterday. Now if I can survive as my wife's sous chef today and tomorrow it should be a nice white Thanksgiving.

Packing up my hotel to head home in the morning. Four months on the road is enough. Minnesota has been great but it's time to get home to prepare for the Michigan winter and enjoy coffee with my wife. I also miss my writing room and songwriting. Lots of that on my winter list.

I've never been a big Christmas person, not in the commercial sense, but food and family are high on my list. I can embrace that part of the holidays. So, expect lots of Christmas posts from me this year. It's the first year in our 135 yo farm house in Michigan. Should be fun...and snowy white.

Y'all do know that the discharge petition just forces a vote huh? It then has to be voted on, then voted on in the Senate, and then <drum roll> signed by Trump. We're a long way from the release of the Epstein Files. They still have time to destroy more of them. If he signs it then he purged it.

Veterans Day has lost much of its meaning to me. I respect those who sacrificed and I was once proud of my own service. But, at this moment, it just seems like such a waste. No disrespect to my fellow Veterans but I know I didn't serve for this.
