For this #wipwednesday I have a small tidbit of progress on my gothic romance vampire #Jayvik fic for #VampireJayvikWeek to share! I have a 7k word update for chapter one on the way, and I'm well into chapter 2. In fact, I'm 2 chapters into the outline for this fic and it's already 21 pages! Oh boy!

To cook or to BE cooked? That is the question I'm asking myself this weekend as I frantically write my gothic romance #Jayvik fic for #VampireJayvikWeek & PANIK! I have atrocious time blindness, & this week's work schedule IS NOT HELPING. But either way, I'm excited to see what everyone creates! 😀

Panel #3 has the creature closer than ever and it says "Vampire Jayvik Week starts in 2 days." In panel #4 the POV character is becoming more nervous as a second creature's hand comes from below. Ions and Neurons chapters 4 & 5 are now live! Jayce & Giopara try to talk. Viktor tries to give Viktor life advice. Brain cells are lost. Bad ideas are inevitable at this point. Someone save them from themselves. They've been unsupervised for too long 😅

Almost done with chapters 4 & 5 of Ions and Neurons! Give me about an hour. Yeah, you get a double feature tonight since I was supposed to upload on the 27th and fell asleep 😅 They aren't super long, but I really like the way the flow of conversation is going so far.

Jayce & Giopara having a chat:
"And so they’d set themselves to the task of opening a meaningful dialogue. Or as close to it as they could manage. As unfathomable as it was on a subconscious level, they were strangers. And strangers who did not know how to go about the task of relating to one another, no less. That realization alone was enough to cause distress and hinder progress. Regardless, they pressed on. So far, the conversation had been eye-opening. Giopara spoke of their history together. Of their recent reconciliation. He begrudgingly acknowledged his haste to assume the worst regarding his onetime partner’s motivations as a default, even perhaps before their falling out, and a general unwillingness to give Viktor the benefit of the doubt after their now ancient divergence. Until very recently. Jayce listened to Giopara wax poetic about the strides they’d made in both personal relations and science since the revival of their partnership. Of how tenuous it was. “It was like walking blind through a glass showroom with all the lights out,” Giopara declared. Jayce couldn’t help but chuckle under his breath at such an oddly apt metaphor. Yes. Sometimes it could be that. But in his case, for entirely different reasons. Hearing the opposite end of the spectrum was an exercise in whiplash tolerance. The contrast was staggering. The story was more or less the same, save for a select few details during the argument that had led to their initial falling out, and the fight that followed sometime later that sealed their disdain in the annals of history. I work in a print shop now & there are SO MANY WAYS that I want to abuse this as a fic writer & enjoyer.

I'm THIS CLOSE to ordering copies of my favorite #jayvik fics so that I can bind them & read them as physical books. I can literally fulfill my own orders!

Maybe I'll make a fic bookcase. Yeah.

"In spite of everything fate and destiny threw their way, they survived and made it out alive. But a quiet life filled with lingering questions makes for madness and restless nights, so Jayce asks Viktor for a favor. There is one lingering thread that he needs to cut loose. A simple question that needs answering: What ever happened to the Machine Herald? To the other version of Viktor that he came to care for so deeply. The version of him who helped Jayce when and how he needed it most? Did he keep his promise to speak to Giopara? Did they work things out? Or did they come to blows? Is he still desperately alone? Not to be confused with a different full-length lighthouse keeper Jayce fic that I'm currently in the planning phase of. Chapter 1 of that fic launches soon. #Jayvik

"Jayce had spent the majority of the early morning hours hauling what little he’d been able to scavenge from his ruined apartment up from the dock to the main house. It hadn’t exactly been grueling work, but it had been slow going. A layer of slippery algae had washed up along the shore, which had made traversal a nightmare until he’d thought to take a moment to find a broom in the disused storehouse and clear it away. But once that had been taken care of, everything had continued without any further hiccups. The main house, tucked against the side of the cliff face behind it, was a comfortable two-story building covered in white render and topped with a charming carmine shingled roof. It was detached from the lighthouse that sat a few dozen yards to the east, towering over it like a monolith. A spiraling staircase led up to the lens from within, something that he offhandedly imagined would come in handy, given the region’s penchant for suffering from inclement weather. But for now, that wasn't his concern. For now, he was content with the task of offloading, unpacking, and tidying up. He had work to do. Carrying the final box from the dock up towards the main house, Jayce paused to catch his breath. He set the wooden crate down, panting; palms resting against his thighs as he looked down at the sandy ground below. And then he felt it. Jerking his head up to his left, he saw nothing. Precisely the opposite of what he’d thought he might find. But no. There was nothing. Only the softness of the surf as it lapped against the sandy shoreline. And only the disquieting, lingering assurance that surely something had been there mere moments ago. That had been… Strange. For a moment there, he’d sworn he felt a set of eyes on him. Sighing, he straightened, lifting the box. It was too early to go mad from self-imposed isolation. He hadn’t even moved in yet."

From a MageVik x Jayce oneshot. "Jayce lingered at his opening, spreading and stretching the sensitive muscles with the tip of his member. Sending reverberating faultines of sensation straight down into the soles of his feet as he mewed, able to do nothing more than offer himself up. To yield and be partied, allowing him unrestricted access. But despite what feeble protests his body could conjure up in the form of sporadically clenching muscles as his walls failed to gain purchase around him, Jayce did not humor him. Instead, he continued to tease his opening, his head lapping at a deposit of cum that threatened to drizzle from within him. Jayce migrated the hand he’d previously been using to white knuckle Viktor’s hip over to grasp his behind, spreading him. He growled. The sight alone was intoxicating. “Jayce.” Viktor hazarded, his chest heaving from the effort required to draw breath. Jayce’s hold wasn’t too firm, but it was iron-clad. Resolute. “You're not supposed to be speaking, my love.” He released his neck and wound his fingers through Viktor’s long hair, gripping but not pulling. Holding him steady. His breath hitched in reaction to his touch, expecting something that would not come. Jayce watched as the tension left his shoulders and he relaxed again. His brow furrowed at the sight, concern blooming in his chest. Part of him wondered where he’d learned to internalize that involuntary reaction. Hopefully not from him. The younger of the two felt his chest clench from guilt as his furrow deepened, and he worried at his bottom lip with his tongue and his teeth. Jayce then leaned over him, pressing his lips to the back of his neck as he spoke. Whispering reassuringly without an ounce of malice to be seen. “Did you forget?” “Ah. I apologize. My mistake.” Viktor mumbled quietly as his head fell to one side, his shoulders no longer willing to support the weight of his neck. Suddenly, Jayce felt his thighs tremble..." The rest didn't fit. Sorry. Part of a S1A1 Viktor x Jayce oneshot: "Jayce reached over to wipe a smattering of icing off the edge of Viktor’s jawline, only to be met with the sight of his shoulders rising in response as he reflexively jerked away. Viktor’s face turned slightly pink in realization. “Stop that.” He retorted mawkishly, brushing Jayce’s hand away. Jayce beamed, warm brown eyes bright and twinkling with a newfound sense of revelation. He couldn’t believe it. “You’re ticklish.” Viktor opened his mouth to reflexively offer a counterargument, raising his right pointer finger accusatorially. But an instant later, he relented. Viktor knew how to tell when he’d lost the battle. He cringed, glancing away. “Eh. Perhaps a bit, but-” Without warning, Jayce seized him by the collar, kissing the side of his neck as he slipped his right hand under the bottom of his shirt, brushing his fingertips against Viktor’s ribcage. He attempted to pull away, but it was far too late. He was trapped where he stood by the sheer strength of Jayce’s iron-clad hold on him. Viktor gasped, pressing his lips together tightly as he squirmed, attempting to stifle what he already felt coming. But alas, he failed. Offering little resistance, Viktor folded, letting out a choked sound followed by a burst of genuine, unadulterated laughter. Jayce gaped, eyes wide with wonder as he took in the sight of him leaning back in his arms, eyes brimming with unshed tears as he cackled. It was the most beautiful sound he’d ever heard. And then Viktor snorted. The room fell silent again, all but for the sound of a ticking clock atop the mantlepiece. Viktor looked mortified. Jayce just stared, utterly amazed. “What was that?” Jayce asked, smiling fondly. Viktor blanched, not even noticing that Jayce’s hand still rested against his ribcage. “I’m sorry. That was… unbecoming of me.” “Do it again.” Jayce didn’t so much as hesitate. He didn’t care what anyone else thought of his little outburst. Jayce thought it was adorable." An excerpt from a S1 Jayce x S1 Firelight Viktor oneshot: " He knew what true exhaustion looked like better than anyone. “I trust life as a counselor has been… interesting?” Jayce shook his head, a wild look in his eyes. “Anything but. I can’t get anything done. Every five seconds, there’s another disaster. Another budget proposal that doesn’t accomplish anything. The Noxians have me cornered, and they're breathing down my neck about a weapon. And if I have to go to one more of Salo’s parties, I-“ Jayce paused, closing his eyes. He took a deep breath in an attempt to ground himself before opening his eyes again. And when he did, they were filled with nothing short of longing. He sighed, eyes welling with unspent tears. He had missed talking to Viktor so much more than even he himself had realized. Having someone to confide in who understood him, who would never judge him, only listen and gently shepherd him in the right direction. He needed him. “I miss you, Viktor. Miss the lab. Miss us. Get me out of here.” “Don’t tempt me with a good time, Jayce,” Viktor said softly, a noticeable tinge of sorrow hanging from his words. He stroked Jayce’s arm tenderly. Jayce grimaced. “I’m serious.” Viktor glanced off to the side momentarily, eyes searching for something he sensed that Jayce did not. Jayce went rigid. Anxiety permeated the air for what felt like ages, but in reality was only a few fleeting seconds. Finally, he turned his attention back to Jayce, his eyes dead serious. They had that hint of wild madness in them that Jayce knew could only mean one thing. The gears in his head were turning. He had something risky in mind. “Do you truly mean that?” His voice was low. Hushed. Weighty as the grave. “Every bit of it.” Jayce didn’t hesitate. He was serious. More serious perhaps than he had ever been about anything besides the two of them. “Do whatever you want with me. I don’t care. Just… Please. I don’t know how much longer I can keep doing this.”
