Uranium glass came to the united states in the late 1800s, theorized to have been brought from Europe through trade. It was later manufactured in the states and used in all sorts of dishware, household appliances, and accessories.

The production of Uranium glass as we know it today began in 1834 and was invented by Claus Josef Reidel, Czech Glassmaker and chemist. The Uranium would be melted down then mixed into the glass mixture to give it the jade green color we would see later in jadeite mugs.

Later other companies copied this hit color in their own productions; Most famously, the Anchor Hocking created their own version in 1942, being coined colloquially as 'jadeite green'

Pros of this sort of mug is its lightweight factor, being considerably lighter than the standard ceramic mug, as well as its thermal qualities. Unfortunately they sell for very high, usually ranging between $50-64 per mug and $250-340 for the collection.

The identifying features of this kind of mug is its double layer of glass, one that holds the liquid and one that creates the exterior. The sizes vary depending on the model and shape of the mug, usually hosting a D shaped handle on its side.

The collection including this mug first came out in September of 2015 and was designed to give a 'floating' effect to the liquid put inside, as well as be more comfortable to the touch when holding hot liquids.

Fun fact- The claim "Cats domesticated themselves" is true- to a degree. The most likely theory suggests that cats were simply tolerated by humans and later bred to be more tolerated by and even later, reliant on us.

Fun fact- Coyotes are pack animals and very loyal to each other, never leaving one behind. This means if a coyote perceives a threat as being too much for one or if one is injured, they all retreat. This is a reason sheep dogs are good at fending them off.

They were popularized during the Industrial Revolution in America due to the male standard at the time being a clean-shaven face, such as comics in news papers in Philadelphia and, most notably, a clean-shaven Abraham Lincoln, though this would not be how he would be remembered in history.

The first patent awarded to a shaving mug was in 1872, but they date back to 1805. The shaving mug was a nearly strictly American product, being mainly used and produced in the states.

A shaving mug was usually accompanied by a shaving puck, a small round disk of soap that, when added to water, would make a thick lather. This would then be applied with a shaving brush, a small brush with thick, soft bristles and usually was the size of a dollar coind in width and 3"-5" in height.
