Very good on the deeply cynical and dangerous right wing manoeuvres to compromise and ultimately destroy the BBC.

I know this is a funny joke, and for a long time I scornfully saw e-bikes as "cheating", but honestly I think they've been a great thing for a lot of people.

I'll reply with things that we can thank e-bikes (and even those infernal scooters) for:
“So we asked ourselves: how could we make the common bicycle heavier, more dangerous and, ultimately, reliant on electricity”

Again I wake up to hundreds of aurora photos wondering why on earth my extremely online self saw no hint of this being a thing when I was scrolling last night past my bedtime.

Just a "go outside and look up" would have sufficed!

People who want to make the web accessible need to understand the many different ways that people with disabilities use the web. This W3C resource offers a good introduction to how disabled people navigate the web, and barriers they commonly encounter.

Finally got to write about this obsession. Elon pushed people to stop linking the articles they were talking about. He's started to roll that back, but we were left with a culture of people yelling at screenshots of headlines on monetized accounts

My head hurts. Trying to allow an empty string in a field where an email could go.

Zod validation generated from graphql - so even if I extend the zod input schema, graphql says no, that empty string isn't an email. Siiighh

Is this familiar to anyone and is there a way, other than leaving that […]

Answer/quote with your favourite childish jokes:
Presumably you already know:

What's brown and sticky? A stick!
What's blue and fluffy? Blue fluff!
What's white and silly? A windowsill!

Also:
What bees make milk? Boobies!

What’s the fastest drink in the world?

Milk. Because it’s past your eyes before you see it

(past your eyes …pastyoureyes …pasteurised!)

It doesn't, or one of my best jokes doesn't work any more:

- What's the fastest cake*?

- It's so fast, it's scone!

(it's gone, geddit?)
* we can argue about whether it's a cake or not another time
Rhymes with Berlusconi
My most controversial starter pack yet... a collection of people who pronounce scone as scone and not scone

What little CS knowledge I have was hard won over a long period of time. I still don't really care for it, except where it's pragmatic enough to help me make better decisions while I work.

If you have a similar background to me, this article is your shortcut to more intentional programming.
The majority of us are a bunch of self taught people with rather spotty knowledge and that's fine! Kilian (also self taught) is here to share some of the computer science fundamentals you probably are missing with the aim to improve your code in the long term.

I’d even drop “JavaScript” from that sentence 😉
