#Vegan Sea Island red pea stew, oven-roasted fennel with lemon, cornbread, & Carolina gold rice. All homemade - recipes in ALT. I got these amazing heirloom red peas from Rollen's Raw Grains, rollensrawgrains.com, a small, family business with a great back story (see next post). #veganfood 🌱🍽️🍜
The described meal served on a plate. The roasted fennel is garnished with fennel fronds, and the stew is garnished with a fresh parsley sprig. Reinforcing the lesson - you always have to read the ingredients list on everything. MorningStar Farms is similarly sneaky, & once I was fooled by cilantro paste, of all things. Never again; now, I read every label before buying. Who would guess in a million years that this ⬇️ isn't vegan?
