I don't know if there is a good answer for traditional games media. In "Youtuber" territory, the answer is to have a personality people want to see enough that they'll watch anything from them. How many people discovered an indie or obscure old game from people like Dunkey or TwoBestFriendsPlay?

Mark Darrah suspected it was because the old engine Origins and 2 run on. Almost no one with deep knowledge of that engine is still at Bioware, versus the Mass Effect trilogy running on UE3.

Possibly, unless some Capcom dev comments about this for the RE Engine like the Ubisoft person did for Snowdrop, we don't really know. I think the only game on the RE engine currently on Switch 2 is SF6, which could have fit on a real cart but is instead a Key Card.

At $30 from day one, I think virtually no one would have bought it, especially considering how slow Xbox exclusives were to come out 8 years ago.

As far as I'm aware, debit cards tend to be backed/processed by Visa or Mastercard here for the most part, and usually work anywhere a credit card will. I've used mine in Canada with no issues. There're also ATM cards that can only be used at cash machines. Costs vary, "free" exists at most banks.

I don't think there are any on PS3. Breakdown on the OG Xbox is the only traditional FPS coming to mind even close to the era. It was all third-person for 7th gen, up until RE7.

I'm not saying it can't work, but most WRPGs are 30+ hours at minimum. Obsidian specifically is well within that window, with Outer Worlds 1 largely being considered too short by fans of the genre.

Just cutting run time is not a blanket solution that makes sense. 10-20 hours would be short for an RPG.
