I wrote about the role of the courts and the role of the people (us!) in saving ourselves, and what I saw at yesterday's protest outside the U.S. Capitol.
Heroic work from ordinary people
Courts, crowds, and those who do the background work.

For 60 years the NRA touted their awful positions on guns to maintain their ability to resist a tyrannical government and then when one showed up they were like "we are good with this actually"

i feel like i'm losing my mind. barack obama had a 70% approval rating on inauguration day; gop strategy was absolute intransigence, treat him as illegitimate, one-term president, etc. trump is damaged goods and a lame duck. we should fight like hell.
There is an emerging conventional wisdom that resistance to Trump went too far and I am going to lose my mind.

The point of acknowledging Trump started the TikTok ban isn't to excuse the complicity of Democrats who supported it; it's to counter any credit people try to give Trump for "saving" TikTok.

If I'm Chair, the DNC will begin an audit of existing consulting contracts on Day One.

We will root out conflicts of interest, prioritize impact instead of commissions, and ensure all spending aligns with our values and mission.

Spend to win. No grift.

@juanitatolliver.bsky.social new book, A More Perfect Party, is out today. It’s about the Shirley Chisholm campaign. I read it during the campaign and thought, “danm, same shit, different century.”

Read this before telling me it was about the price of eggs.

Canine Rescue Club in LA is another great charity.

They're coordinating temporary foster families who can take in dogs from people who have been displaced from the fires.

They could use funds to help feed and cover medical care for animals as many have been burned.

Chip in if you can!

Pam Bondi is loyal to Donald Trump. She's not necessarily loyal to Leonard Leo. And I'll take a Trump stooge over a Leo stooge any day.

it’s not a mere tedious cleanup process, blocking today’s round of trolls just like sorting out the junk mail from the bills and birthday cards

it does not live on you that lightly
The thing that keeps getting me about all the pieces fretting about Bluesky being too insular is that the argument seems to be that those of us who are most likely to be abused by the right (BIPOC people, trans people, queer people, etc) must put up with being abused for the sake of public discourse

The idea that CFPB is duplicative is horseshit. The reason it was created is that there is no other regulatory agency whose job it is to look out for consumers being ripped off by complex financial products. Thats why ppl like Musk having being trying to eliminate it since its creation.

That shit is not safe, is not reliable news, and has had a vested interest in the fossil fuel industry for a very long time now.
