Grumpy old man from Sweden.
Father, martial artist, KSCA, PC gamer, Warhammer 40K enthusiast, politically incorrect, Christian apostate, metal head. Coffee junkie.
No need to follow me.
Just wanted to say; Have a great weekend!
I made chicken and vegetable soup with garlic bread.
Sometimes that is all I need to feel a little happy in this evil and sick world.
Creature comforts that always work.
Cheers!

I have been to the US. NY, Orlando, Pittsburg and New Orleans. Nice place to visit but to live there? Fuck no.
Do you know your murder rate (murder per 100.000 people) is 6 times higher than in Europe? In some areas 15-20 times higher. Why are you fed up with your country?
I'm curious.
Cheers mate!

These are actual walk/don't walk light signals in the center of Stockholm😁 I think you'll like Sweden.

Over here true homophobes are few and far apart,
Bork bork!

While in the socialist hell hole that is the kingdom of Sweden we pay (after the monthly stipend) $52 per month for full time, high end childcare including meals and diapers.
We also have 1.5 years payed parental leave to be shared between the parents. Try that.

Tax $ well spent. My daughter loved her daycare and the wonderful, well payed, staff.

Lucky how?
You mean it could have been even more expensive?
I mean, we're not talking elective care here.
And American politicians complain about too few children being born. Easy to say when you have a government job. Well payed and with great insurance.
July 6, 2025 at 8:31 AM
To me, those numbers are just insane.
What the heck are you getting for your tax $?
Here's a tip for politicians in the next presidential race:
look at how Scandinavian families are taken care of, copy that and win 90% of the female votes.

I wouldn't call our system as socialist.
Social democrats is closer.
We have problems with immigrants, gangs, drugs but overall it's a nice country to live in.

Never seen a bill from a doctor.
All prenatal/delivery/health/dental/hearing/vision care & prescription drugs for kids are out of pocket free in my socialistic hell hole of a country😀
Daycare is basically free as well.
This is how we spend our tax $.
This is how you spend them:
July 4, 2025 at 12:26 PM
Q; How much did you pay out of pocket?
Asking because we pay nothing for prenatal care and delivery. Oh yes, full time daycare here costs $50/month.
July 4, 2025 at 7:34 AM
Some numbers doesn't make sense to this grumpy old swede. How can a baby "cost" $25.000 in their first year?
All they do is eat, scream, sleep and poop. Apart from diapers the rest is more or less free.

Nursing for 2 years (?)
I get that childcare is ridiculously expensive in the US but nursing a 2 year old can't be a reason for affordable daycare. If you can't go back to work after a year because of breast feeding, that's your choice.
We pay about $50/month for quality daycare. Try that.

While in Sweden...
Paid through our taxes:
Prenatal care
Delivery
Health/vision/hearing/dental/prescription drugs until 18/20
Daycare (out of pocket it's about $50/month)
School/college

Nothing out of pocket.
July 2, 2025 at 5:32 PM
Maybe if your government didn't spend a trillion $ on defense you could have what we get for our tax $:
Free:
Prenatal care
Delivery
Health/vision/hearing/dental/prescription drugs until 18/20
Daycare (out of pocket it's about $50/month)
School/college

Bernie is more of a Khorne Berzerker.
He has more energy than the rest of the democrats put together.

Finally...
July 1, 2025 at 6:28 AM
Very nice. Go Slaanesh.
July 1, 2025 at 5:39 AM
That is really nice. I think I hate you.
I'm 59 and perfect eyesight and steady hands are off the table.
I love kit bashing though.

Sweden. A country with the population of North Carolina and the size of California manages that including universal healthcare and free daycare. The US on paper is the richest nation on earth but when it comes to social reform you are a banana republic.
June 23, 2025 at 11:43 AM
Move to Sweden.
In this socialist hell hole we pay $50/month (it's actually $170 but every child gets a $120 stipend/month) for full time daycare.
AND all healthcare, dental, vision, hearing, prescription drugs is free until the kid turns 18/21.
Taxes well spent.

I agree. This can not and will not result in a more stable middle east. Step 2 is unlikely (but not impossible) but awakening sleeper cells and terrorist individuals is a given.
I don't see a Nobel peace prize in the future for DJT...
June 22, 2025 at 7:08 AM
And now you are officially at war with Iran. Wtf?
