Aquatic snails were not only a source of food for ancient humans, but their shells were also used as jewellery. Long relationship between humans and molluscs on display at the Muzium Negara, Kuala Lumpur 🇲🇾 #MolluscMonday

The Bangkok Art Biennale #BAB2024 was one reason I had gone to the museum, where a few artworks were on display. I also managed to visit another Biennale venue at the BACC, where among many other things, were more shells in artworks by Aki Inomata. #MolluscMonday

Molluscs sighted at the National Museum in Bangkok last month. Prehistoric shell earrings, relatively modern shell toys, a cowrie shell at a display of how royal laundry was done in the past (shell possibly used to smoothen out cloth?), intricate mother-of-pearl objects. #MolluscMonday
