Thank you @eddavey.libdems.org.uk for calling out Farage and the BBC for their coverage of him this morning. Very well said - “you cover the tittle-tattle of Refom but not their policies”. 💯

There should be one agenda item on the UK-EU summit - how we rejoin.

Everything else is guff.

Trudeau is absolute class.
Canadian PM Justin Trudeau:

"Today, the United States launched a trade war against Canada - their closest partner and ally, their closest friend. At the same time, they're talking about working positively with Russia, appeasing Vladimir Putin - a lying murderous dictator. Make that makes sense."

I can’t bear it that we live in a world where an actual war hero has to suck up to a narcissistic bully because every other world leader is powerless to intervene.

What message are we sending our kids about how they should behave if they want to succeed.

It’s bleak. Where do we find hope?

With everything going on in the world, I know it’s hard, but don’t forget to live. Find joy, smile, and hold on to what makes you happy. Because the weaker you feel, the easier it is for them to win.

Remember when Musk wore a baseball cap and t-shirt to the Oval Office and not a single person asked him where his suit was?

I think this is the closest many of us have ever got to seeing the real Trump. The only consistent thread in his entire unhinged rant was the love & praise for Vladimir Putin. Zelensky has more courage & dignity in his little finger than every member of Trump's regime & fan club combined.

This is absolutely intolerable. Intolerable.
Almost 20 European leaders, incl Emmanuel Marcon & Friedrich Merz, plus VDL, have posted in support of @ZelenskyyUa after White House showdown.

Notably, Keir Starmer has not. No 10 is referring reporters to PM’s comments this week on a just & lasting peace, with Ukraine at heart of talks.

Today two bullies acted exactly as bullies do when faced by someone they know to be superior to them in every single way.

Call it what it is.

Brexit was, is, and always will be an unforgivable act of self-harm inflicted on the British public by a Tory party running scared from Farage.

It was always about party preservation- never about the national interest.

I actually can’t believe what I’ve just watched on #newsnight.

American spokesperson defending Trump’s attack on DEI policies saying he wouldn’t want his family in a plane if a « blind dwarf with serious psychological problems » was controlling air traffic.

WTF America. WTF.

Strongly suspect that « He provided no evidence » is going to be the most used phrase of the next four years.

If the government want to grow the economy they should REJOIN THE EU.

But yeah, let’s build a third runway instead and screw climate change.

Travelling by train in the UK really is awful.

Trains cancelled or delayed, seat reservations removed, timetable changes all at last minute.
And tickets prices sky high.

Just needed to get that out.

“The economic cost of Brexit, reliably estimated at around 5% of GDP and with a total loss to government coffers by 2035 of over £300bn, is unlikely to be offset by attempting to ‘make Brexit work’ – a slogan which rather confirms that it hasn’t”

Brexit – an unwelcome truth
Labour’s continued silence on Brexit might just reveal an unwelcome truth; another reason, perhaps, to use the Brexit telescope?

Very sad to hear that #JohnPrescott has died.
I briefly worked with him as a young civil servant when he was focussed on the environment and climate change. He was authentic, hard-working, straight talking and passionate about making a difference.
I wish we had more politicians like him.

I have zero sympathy for any farmer who still worships Farage.
Naturally, all those people who screwed farms with Brexit, not replacing EU subsidies, letting climate change wreck the countryside, and doing terrible deals that put farms at a competitive disadvantage, are today on the front of their picket line, all bad blood forgotten. ~AA
